As human beings, we are all fundamentally the same – in life, we seek happiness, and strive to avoid suffering when we can. That being said, our bodies are all uniquely different, and each and every day our yoga practice must evolve to meet our current needs.
Here I have posted images of myself performing some of the primary asanas (poses) with their English and Sanskrit names. I will soon go back and post important notes about each of the poses and affirmations to use when practicing them. I invite you to view these photos as a template, or a road map to the physical practice of yoga. Please keep in mind that the yoga asanas will not look or be performed the same way by each person; the poses exist to help us explore our bodies, and may turn out to look and feel different day-to-day and month-to-month. Try to have patience with yourself, practice ahimsa (nonviolence), and keep in mind that everything in life is constantly evolving. After all, you (just as you are now!) are your own best teacher, and you have all the wisdom and experience necessary to be guided from within.
